A HUGE SUCCESS

During the first week of May, the SIGFA Samoa International Game Fishing Association held it's 25th Annual Tournament. 24 teams competed over four big days, fishing out of our capital Apia. There were plenty of international anglers, with three boats shipped up from NZ by the naming sponsor “Neptune Pacific” and two boats from American Samoa. Anglers from all over the world, along with heaps of Aussie's and Kiwi's made up the teams competing on most of the local boats.

During the four days of fishing, a total of 110 gamefish we landed, including an incredible 66 billfish tagged and released. This consisted of 48 blue marlin, 18 sailfish, 1 black marlin, 1 striped marlin and 1 shortbilled spearfish. Once again proving that Samoa has an awesome sport fishing fishery.

Team Troppo fishing aboard Pure Indulgence took out first place, with second place going to Team Fua II and third place going to Team Roadie. Teams Razee and Reel Cat came fourth and fifth respectively. All teams managed to release at least one billfish, with many anglers getting to release their first billfish.

What a fantastic tournament! Congratulations go to all skippers, their anglers and the SIGFA Tournament Committee.

You are all CHAMPIONS!

Here's some pics taken by Team Troppo of the action aboard Pure Indulgence and a couple of the festivities associated to our win. Yee Ha!!
