TEAM TROPPO WINS SIGFA TUNA TOURNAMENT

FISH TO THE MAX March 2023 Tournament Report

Last Saturday SIGFA held its inaugural FTTM

“TERRIFIC TUNA TOURNAMENT”

Twelve boats/teams experienced perfect fishing conditions as they competed for beefed prizes during one of Samoa’s premier sport fishing events.

With most teams concentrating their efforts off the north coast of Upolu, along the drop-offs both east and west, there were some great catches recorded and some big fish landed, including a number of released billfish.

Team Troppo headed west to one of Hoppo's favourite marks just inside the 2000m line north of Apolima Strait and struck gold, with Sally landing a beautiful 56kg yellowfin and then Hamish landing a blue marlin and a sailfish which were both released in good condition, earning the team maximum points. It was a fantastic day, followed by lots of smiles as the team celebrated their win back at the bar in the SIGFA Clubhouse.
